Privacy policy

What AJ Express collects when you request a quote, book a shipment or track cargo, why we hold it, who we share it with, and how to ask us to delete it.

01 Who we are

AJ Express is a cargo and courier coordination company based in H# 58, Yaqoob Street, Model Town, Sialkot, Pakistan. We arrange international movement of goods from Pakistan through airlines, shipping lines, intermediary service providers and final-mile carriers.

This policy covers this website, the customer portal and the shipment records behind them. For any question about it, or to exercise any right described here, contact us at info@ajexpress.com.

02 What we collect

We only collect what a shipment or an enquiry actually needs:

  • Contact details you type into a quote or contact form: name, company, email address and phone number.
  • Shipment details: origin, destination, consignee, cargo description, piece count, weights, dimensions and declared value.
  • Account information if you use the customer portal: your login email, a hashed password, and the shipments and invoices linked to your account.
  • Documents you or our staff attach to a shipment, such as invoices, packing lists and customs paperwork.
  • Technical information your browser sends: IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. We use it to keep the site available and to rate-limit abuse.

03 Why we hold it

Each piece of information has a specific purpose. We do not collect data on the chance it may be useful later.

  • To quote, book, move, clear and deliver your cargo.
  • To keep you updated and to answer questions about a shipment.
  • To invoice you and to keep the accounting records the law requires.
  • To meet customs, airline, carrier and export obligations at both ends of the route.
  • To investigate loss, damage, delay or a disputed charge.

04 Who we share it with

International cargo cannot move without passing information down the chain. We share the minimum needed with the parties handling your shipment.

  • Airlines, shipping lines and final-mile carriers, including DHL, FedEx, UPS and equivalents, where your cargo is handed to them.
  • Intermediary service providers and destination agents who handle the shipment on our behalf.
  • Customs and border authorities in Pakistan and at the destination, where declaration is legally required.
  • Our hosting, email and payment suppliers, acting on our instructions and bound to protect the data.
  • Professional advisers, auditors or authorities where the law requires disclosure.

05 What we never do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not rent or trade contact lists with other companies.
  • We do not send marketing you did not ask for.
  • We do not use your shipment data for anything other than moving and billing your shipment.

06 Cookies

This site sets a session cookie so that forms and logins work, and a CSRF token cookie that stops other sites submitting forms in your name. Both are strictly necessary and cannot be turned off without breaking the site.

We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, this section will say so and will name the provider before it is switched on.

07 How long we keep it

Shipment and invoice records are kept for as long as the tax and customs rules that apply to us require, and for as long as a claim about that shipment could still be brought.

Quote requests and contact messages that do not become shipments are removed once they are no longer useful to answer.

Internal audit records of changes to shipment and finance data are kept for 365 days.

Account statement links shared with you expire after 14 days and can be revoked earlier on request.

08 How we protect it

  • The site is served over HTTPS and passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
  • Portal customers see only their own shipments, invoices and documents.
  • Staff access is limited by role, and changes to shipment and finance records are logged.
  • Database backups are encrypted before they are stored.

09 Your rights

Write to us at info@ajexpress.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete information we no longer need for a shipment, an invoice or a legal obligation.
  • Stop contacting you, other than about a shipment already in progress.

10 Children

This site is for business and personal shipping arrangements made by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11 Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use existing shipment data will be notified to affected customers directly.
