Terms
Terms of service
The terms on which AJ Express quotes, accepts, carries and invoices cargo, including what you confirm when you book and where our responsibility begins and ends.
01 These terms
These terms apply to every quote, booking and shipment arranged by AJ Express. Booking a shipment, or handing cargo to us or to a party collecting on our behalf, means you accept them.
Where you have a signed contract with us, that contract takes precedence over anything on this page that conflicts with it.
02 What we do
We arrange the international movement of cargo. Depending on the route we act as a freight forwarder and coordinator, contracting with airlines, shipping lines, intermediary service providers and final-mile carriers on your behalf.
Where cargo is handed to a final carrier such as DHL, FedEx or UPS, that carrier's own conditions of carriage apply to the leg they perform. We remain your point of contact throughout.
03 Quotes
A quote is an estimate based on the information you give us. It is not a confirmed booking and it does not reserve capacity.
Quotes are priced on chargeable weight, which is the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in centimetres divided by 5000.
- A quote may be revised if the cargo differs from what was described, or is re-measured or re-weighed at a gateway.
- Quotes exclude destination duties, taxes, storage, demurrage, inspection fees and any charge raised by a customs authority, unless the quote says otherwise in writing.
- Rates may change where fuel, security or carrier surcharges change between quotation and dispatch.
04 What you confirm when you book
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us and for what is inside the cargo.
- The cargo description, weight, dimensions, quantity and declared value are accurate and complete.
- The cargo contains nothing on our prohibited list and nothing restricted at origin, in transit or at the destination.
- You are entitled to ship the goods and hold any licence or permit the export requires.
- The consignee details are correct and the consignee is able to receive and clear the goods.
- The cargo is packed to survive normal international handling.
05 Cargo we refuse
We may refuse, hold or return any shipment that is prohibited, restricted without approval, misdeclared, unsafe, improperly packed or unlawful at either end of the route.
Where cargo is refused after collection, charges already incurred stay payable and return costs are for your account.
06 Transit times
Every transit time we give is an estimate, not a guarantee. Routing, cargo acceptance, customs, documentation, airline and vessel schedules, weather, strikes and destination conditions all affect it.
We do not accept liability for loss caused by delay unless we have agreed a guaranteed date with you in writing.
07 Charges and payment
- Invoices are payable by the due date shown on the invoice.
- Duties, taxes and destination charges are payable by the consignee unless agreed otherwise before dispatch.
- Where a carrier or authority raises a charge after delivery, such as a re-weigh, an address correction or a storage fee, we pass it on at cost.
- We may withhold cargo or documents while undisputed sums remain overdue.
08 Loss, damage and claims
Our liability for loss of or damage to cargo is limited to the limits set by the international convention or carrier contract applying to that leg of the journey. Cover beyond those limits is available only where insurance has been arranged and paid for before dispatch.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, contract, market or goodwill.
- Visible damage must be noted on the delivery record at the time of delivery.
- Claims must reach us in writing within 14 days of delivery, or of the date delivery should have taken place.
- Claims must be supported by the commercial invoice, packing list and photographs of the packaging and contents.
- We cannot consider a claim on cargo that was prohibited, restricted without approval or misdeclared at booking.
09 Tracking information
Tracking milestones are published as they are reported to us by our own operations and by the carriers handling the shipment. They are provided for information and can lag the physical position of the cargo.
Public tracking shows shipment status only. It never exposes pricing, customer details or documents.
10 Using this website
- Do not attempt to access shipments, accounts, invoices or documents that are not yours.
- Do not scrape, overload or probe the tracking service or any form on this site.
- The AJ Express name, logo and site content belong to us. Carrier names are used only to identify the carriers handling a shipment.
11 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
